I’m Amanda van der Walt, founder of AM Accounting Services and a qualified accounting professional with over a decade of experience in financial accounting and tax compliance. Over the years, I’ve worked with businesses of all sizes, from start-ups finding their feet to established companies looking for efficient, reliable accounting support.
After years in the industry, I realised that many business owners feel overwhelmed by financial jargon, deadlines, and complex tax requirements. I started AM Accounting Services to change that, to offer straightforward, personalised accounting solutions that make sense in the real world.

About Amanda
Born in Walvis Bay, Namibia, I’ve called Knysna in the beautiful Garden Route home since 2014. Life here is busy and fulfilling — I’m a wife, mom to two energetic young children, and dog-mom to three lovable pups. Juggling family life with running a business keeps me on my toes, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I completed my SAICA articles at a reputable audit firm, where I spent 11 years gaining extensive experience in financial accounting, tax compliance, and client support across different industries. A brief chapter with a UK accounting firm focusing on management accounting gave me valuable international exposure — but also made me realise my real passion lies in building my own practice and working directly with clients.
When I’m not balancing books, you’ll find me in the kitchen cooking up something new, enjoying a good book, having a braai with family and friends, or keeping active with regular exercise.
